Fast-speed wire-cut EDM is a specific type of electrical discharge wire cutting—also known as a High-Speed ​​Wire-cut EDM Machine (WEDM-HS). It is characterized by the high-speed reciprocating motion of its electrode wire (typically a molybdenum wire, available in diameters of 0.18mm, 0.2mm, 0.22mm, and 0.25mm). The speed of the molybdenum wire is adjustable, ranging from 8 to 10 meters per second, and the wire itself is reusable. The process derives its name from its rapid machining speed and the ease with which the workpiece can be centered (achieving a machining accuracy of 0.05 to 0.08 mm).
